From clerical closet to coming out: part 2

"The seminarians all looked the same, and the joke would be that this is the vocation director's 'type.'"

This is the second part of my recorded conversation with Danny Peterson. Danny is a former Catholic priest who now lives as an openly gay man. In this part of our conversation, we discuss his struggle to integrate his sexuality with his life as a priest, conversion therapy narratives in the life of the Church, how homosexuality shows up in seminary formation, the rumors about McCarrick during his seminary days, scandals that his diocese kept secret, and where he’s been able to find healing and integration. Please note that this conversation includes adult language and themes and may not be suitable for young children.

The next part will be released next week. Paying subscribers can get early access here.
