In this three-part recorded conversation, I speak with Danny Peterson about what leads priests to Grindr. We talk about his own history as a Catholic priest, how he was referred for conversion therapy by the Franciscans, how McCarrick was able to operate in his diocese, coming to terms with his own double life, and what it means for him to flourish today.
This was excellent and resonated with my experience of feeling being a religious for 12 years and then hearing an invitation from the Lord to follow my heart more deeply and leave the community. It eventually led to coming out, gay marriage and starting a family, and becoming a social worker. I can’t wait to hear more of his journey and learn from it.
Thank you for sharing these stories. I found it very healing.
